On the weekend of 23rd 24th September the national Oxygen8 team of SME Consultants came together in Taupo for their annual conference.
Due to Covid restrictions it’s been 2 years since our growing team has been in one place. This year we hosted 22 delegates from Timaru to Russell, and we were thrilled that 4 clients took the time to join in and provided us with some great insights to how we work best together.
The conference was held at the Millennium Hotel on the lake shore, amazing views, walks and sunsets! Not to mention great facilities, service, and hot pools.
Highlights of the agenda included–
- A brief update on firm marketing and new client engagement systems. Oxygen8 has an internal and external team of advisors that are responsible for our marketing spend and activities. They are working hard to maximise brand exposure and ROI.
- Throughout the conference our new crop of client testimonial videos were featured, this provided insight and inspiration to all about the great work we do to support SME business owners. To find out more about what our clients have to say go to our YouTube channel – click here (they are awesome!)
- Getting to know each other was a big focus for organisers, we have an amazing pool of talent across the team, and it’s become the foundation of our culture to provide each other with a valuable resource for technical skill or, as we all tend to work in isolation, for emotional support and motivation. There were lots of opportunities created to mix and mingle, maintain old relationships and build new ones.
- Sharing ideas and upskilling: a significant proportion of the agenda was dedicated to learning and development. Business related team “projects” self-awareness sessions and an amazing guest speaker in John Shackleton who educated us on the importance of mindfulness and some simple techniques to centre our thoughts. If you do not know of John check him out here- https://www.johnshack.com/
- Then came the fun part of the event where we celebrate the success across the team, Oxygen8 team members were joined by partners and invited clients and guests to recognise the achievements and contribution of individuals. Awards went to-
