Esther brings more than 30 years’ experience in financial control and management. While working in the corporate sector she honed her mentoring and project management skills including leading an outstanding Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project for a large multi-national company. Esther’s commitment to clients is practical and resilient, helping owners identify, understand and achieve their business goals.
Esther Saies brings huge insight into a small business – the kind of insight that is honed from years spent as a Financial Controller for a large corporation, mentoring current and future department heads and project managing change.
Her passion for small business has equally been years in the making. In her own words, “working as a Financial Controller is more about understanding the whole of a business than it is about crunching numbers. What I had to do was be able to see behind the numbers and provide guidance as to what was and wasn’t working and find solutions for improvements”.
That’s exactly what Esther can do for clients. “Small business owners are so often caught up in the day to day operations”, says Esther. “These are real people with real dreams. What I do is draw on my experience solving real problems to give them the clear direction they need to achieve what they’ve set out to do.”
Esther takes pride in being a ‘doer’. She says, “the theory is important, but understanding why business processes matter (for example) is only meaningful when you see it for yourself. I’m a big believer in letting my work speak for itself”. And there’s at least one client, living his dream riding around on his motorbike right now.
Esther’s passion is to help the business owner succeed. “One of the most important things to understand is that ‘success’ is a different future picture for different people”, she says. “My job is to help a business owner reconnect with why they started in business and together we build a model of what success is for them. Then I help them stay the course, so they get real time out of the day to day, and can make great decisions that benefit them and their goals”.
